What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemist position at Linde Gas & Equipment Inc.?
Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Chemist to join our team located in Hahnville, LA. This position will primarily be responsible for testing acetylene cylinders on a GC with automation. The Chemist will develop methods, perform maintenance, and coordinate the production process based on the quality of the cylinder testing. The chemist will submit certificates of analysis for each cylinder tested, document GC trends, and coordinate reliability trends with departments across business units.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to perform required analyses on all gases and mixtures.
- Performs routine maintenance or troubleshooting on analytical instruments and sample panels.
- Keep up to date on new methods and new instrumentation related to all analyses.
- Assist in developing new products.
- Develop Management of Change (MOC) documents.
- Develop, improve, and write analytical methods for existing, and new mixtures or pure gases.
- Assist in development of analytical specifications and product technical literature.
- Provide technical support internally and externally.
- Recommend new procedures and new equipment.
- Provide technical training to plant personnel.
- Establish and manage internal stability and Proficiency testing Program.
- Observe all company policies, safety, and standard operating procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the plant manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field required
- Minimum of five years’ experience in an analytical laboratory
- Experience in G.C., GC/MS., FTIR, and other common methods of gas analysis is required
Ability to plan, schedule, and carry out laboratory assignments independently
