What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floor Manager position at Lingo?
Lingo is a Japanese American restaurant in a prime Greenpoint location right next to Transmitter Park. We opened in April this year and are currently on the 'Hottest New Restaurants in Brooklyn' and also on the 'The Best Brunch Spots in the City' both by Eater. We’re looking for a strong motivated leader to guide our talented, passionate and diverse team. The ideal candidate has a sense of urgency, holds service to the highest standard, and has the knowledge to educate the team every line up. We are looking for someone with a warm personality that would enjoy getting to know and grow with our neighborhood clientele.

* Perform floor managerial duties as required by restaurant
* Maintain proper flow of service (at the door, on the floor, and at the pass)
* Assist in coaching and managing the team to ensure smooth service at all points in the dining experience
* Ensure Front of House have appropriate food, beverage, and service knowledge
* Focus on building the experience and developing relations with our guests
* Enforce DOH compliance at all times
* Address any on-site issues in a timely fashion
Daily responsibilities:
* Opening/Closing including Brunch service on weekends. We are currently open 5 days a week but this is subject to change
* Prepare daily pre-shifts and conduct lineup
* Coordinate with BOH/FOH and maintain up to date printed menus/online menu/Toast.
* Weekly inventory/ordering for dry stuff and alcohol/beverages
* Collection of daily sales reports and close out of shifts
* Resy- guest research/vip’s/diets
* FOH shift scheduling
* Involvement in the recruitment and new hire process to include interviewing, recruiting, and training new FOH employees
General:
* Ensure company policies and procedures are followed including but not limited to hiring, discipline, and code of conduct
* Ability to fill in for any FOH position
* Maintain spec sheets for new dishes and new cocktails
* Assign side worksheets
* Manage private event inquiries and day of event execution
Qualifications:
* 1-2 years previous service or supervisory experience at an operation with similar service, guest relation and operational standards
* Ability to use Excel and basic database programs
* NYC Food Protection certificate
* POS system
* Bar experience is a plus

Salary: ($65,000.00 - $75,000.00)
