SUMMARY
Directs and coordinates warehousing activities for organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete and pass United Van Lines' approved Packers Quality Labor training class.
Complete and pass United Van Lines' approved Movers Quality Labor training class.
Complete and pass United Van Lines' approved Inventory Quality Labor training class.
Tear down packing material. Debris pickup and clean/pickup warehouses.
Assists in checking in all shipments, including HHGs, medical equipment, laboratory equipment, computer equipment, and fine arts.
Learn and become proficient with electronic HHG inventory.
Assists in overseeing activities at multiple warehouses.
Driving a forklift is a requirement. Must have this skill set or be willing to be trained.
Assists in checking in all inbound shipments flowing through the warehouse as needed.
Assists in checking out all outbound shipments flowing through the warehouse as needed.
Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment and maintains a clean, neat warehouse at all times.
Inspects physical condition of incoming freight. This includes but is not limited to uncrating, inspecting, documenting conditions, re-packing/re-crating and receiving into the system.
Prepares work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
Assists in salvage of damaged or used material.
Participates in planning personnel safety and warehouse protection activities.
Schedule site visits for various projects.
Create inbound and outbound paperwork for assigned projects in the warehouse.
Arrange pick-up and deliveries out of warehouse for assigned projects.
Maintain inventory of items in the warehouse for projects.
Daily attendance is of the utmost importance for this position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities required for this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
High attention to detail, good oral and written communication skills. Good computer skills. The ability to interpret data in order to make reasonable decisions. The ability to read and comprehend various reports, instructions, or correspondence. The ability to present information in one-on-one or group situations with managers, clients, and personnel. The ability to subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10's and 100's, as well as the ability to perform these operations using weight measurements, volume, and distance. The ability to oversee, delegate, guide, discipline, and monitor the performance of your subordinates.
The ability to learn and be proficient with the electronic HHG inventory.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands of standing, walking, sitting, reaching with both hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds are those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED). 2 years of warehouse experience is preferred. A Class A or B CDL is a bonus but not required.
LIGHT DUTY
Reasonable accommodation will be made for a specific time period for a worker's comp. injury, based on the severity of the injury and the position restrictions provided by the physician. Light duty time period will not exceed 30 days without a review of physical and or job related restrictions.
