What are the responsibilities and job description for the GROUP LEADER position at Liochem Incorporated?
Job Summary: Responsible for the daily oversight and direction of a Plastic Colorants Production Team (MB & UTP) in relation to the successful operation of plastic colorants and the compounds department to achieve safety, quality, training and efficiency goals as set by management.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Promote overall safety within the manufacturing facility.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the shift to ensure production quality, safety and manufacturing goals are met in an efficient manner during assigned hours.
- Work to improve and build a cohesive and efficient production team.
- Helping management drive continuous improvement initiatives, meeting cost effective goals, KPFs, and production standards.
- Assist in the Planning and Scheduling of the Preventative Maintenance activities. May be directly involved with handling at times.
- Relieving, regulating and scheduling breaks, lunches, vacations, and other absences.
- Reviewing batch tickets and paperwork to ensure accuracy.
- Assist training manager with the training and development of workers as well as reviews and discipline when needed.
- Operate equipment as needed to meet production schedules.
- Shutdown and startup of the department and factory when needed.
- Monitor the dust and mist collectors, boiler, chill water system, air compressors, water sump, vacuum dust drums and other facility systems as needed.
- Assist in the shipping and receiving of materials for the department as needed.
- Handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Physical ability to lift and move materials such as 55 lb. packages.

- Chemical Processing Experience
