Lead Dietary Aide

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the healthcare dining rooms and making an enjoyable dining experience for residents and guests under the direction of the Healthcare Dining Director. Responsible for the accuracy of diets and meal service in the absence of the manager. Prepares and serves therapeutically correct diets while following established menu guidelines. May perform some short order cooking (omelets, grilled cheese, etc.) for meal service. Responsible for enforcing all policies and ensuring regulatory guidelines for safe food handling and sanitation are in place. This is a full-time position – works every other weekend

Responsibilities

• Assumes accountability for the accuracy of meal service and service area staffing in the absence of Nutrition Services Manager
• Pays close attention to therapeutic diets as it relates to each residents
• May perform some short order cooking – omelets, grilled cheese, etc
• Responds to residents needs during meal service
• Responsible for executing and maintaining proper labeling and dating each shift
• Follows and enforces department cleaning schedules
• Maintains organization of menus with resident name, diet, texture and preference during service
• Responsible for leading setup and execution of special events, activities, and social events
• Maintain inventory of snacks and other food/beverage items to ensure par levels are current at each meal period
• Must maintain and obey the dietary laws for maintaining a Kosher environment in our community.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years of experience in a food or healthcare setting
• ServSafe Certification (or willing to obtain within the three-month introductory period)
