Job Responsibilities
- Operate rewind equipment to produce high-quality printed materials
- Mount roll of material on machine supports and threads material over tension bar, between feed rollers, and under rotary blades.
- Slit and breakdown finished press rolls according to docket specifications to assure that finished product meets quality and accuracy standards, and inspect and eliminate bad material.
- Prepare packing lists, bills of lading, job docket production reports and all other required paperwork (i.e.log appropriate job information on core tags to identify master rolls.).
- Start machine and observe flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and winding.
- Maintain all rewind equipment in top condition (i.e. sharpening of knifes. replacing of oil filters etc.)
- Operate controls to stop, start, and regulate speed of machine and to align material with rotary blades. Space rotary blades on machine shaft, according to width specified for strips, and turns setscrew to secure blades in position. Disengage winding shaft and removes narrow rolls of material.
- Understand and apply all company rules, policies and safety regulations. Maintain and keep work area clean and neat.
- Perform quality control inspections to ensure products meet specifications
- Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment
- Assist with general repair and housekeeping duties
