Kitchen Staff

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and caring Kitchen Employee to join our daycare team. The Kitchen Employee is responsible for preparing and serving meals and snacks to children, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and following all nutrition and health guidelines. This role is essential in supporting the health and well-being of our children and staff.

Duties

• Prepare and serve daily meals and snacks according to the center's menu and nutrition standards.
• Follow all food safety, allergy, and sanitation guidelines.
• Keep kitchen, storage, and dining areas clean and organized.
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and food deliveries.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to meet the dietary needs of children.
• Ensure compliance with state childcare licensing and health regulations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food preparation, cafeteria, or commercial kitchen preferred (daycare, school, or healthcare setting a plus)
• Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team and interact positively with customers.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items safely, and work efficiently under pressure.
• Familiarity with food handling regulations and hygiene standards required for maintaining a safe kitchen environment.
• Ability to follow menus, portion guidelines, and dietary restrictions
• Understanding of food allergies and special dietary needs for children
• Must maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment at all times
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work assigned schedule
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Must pass required background checks per state childcare regulations
• Food Handler’s Permit or willingness to obtain one upon hire
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy environment for children

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Work Location: In person
