Overview
The QA Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing quality assurance activities on the production floor to ensure that manufacturing operations comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), company policies, and regulatory requirements. This role acts as a key liaison between QA and Production, ensuring real-time quality support, batch record review, deviation control, and GMP adherence during manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Supervise QA personnel assigned to production activities, including in-process checks, line clearance, and documentation review.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with cGMP, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines on the manufacturing floor.
- Perform line clearance and batch record review for completeness, accuracy, and compliance prior to product release.
- Support and lead investigations related to deviations, non-conformances, and OOS/OOT results.
- Ensure timely escalation and resolution of quality issues identified during production.
- Conduct training and mentoring for QA technicians and operators on GMP and quality standards.
- Collaborate with Production, QC, and other departments to ensure a proactive approach to quality.
- Review and approve production-related documentation, including logbooks, batch records, and cleaning records.
- Assist in internal and external audits and inspections, ensuring readiness and compliance at all times.
- Support implementation of CAPAs, change controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or lead role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cGMP regulations (21 CFR 210/211), FDA guidelines, and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with cross-functional teams.
- Flexibility to work off-shifts or weekends as required.
