POSITION SUMMARY
The Lumber Yard Lead is responsible for loading and unloading trucks, pulling orders, and organizing the yard for efficient workflow. Working with other team members to ensure accurate work is performed. This person enjoys being part of a growing and dynamic team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Load and unload the delivery trucks and incoming trucks from vendors.
Inspect equipment for mechanical items and safety issues; perform preventative maintenance.
Pull orders for deliveries.
Keep track of and organize yard inventory.
Maintain the lumberyard, ensuring the yard is clear of obstructions and organized at all times.
Read and interpret work orders (typed, handwritten, electronic).
Assist with routine cleaning of equipment and work area, this may include snow removal.
Report any equipment and product deficiencies.
Follow all established written and unwritten company procedures.
Comply with OSHA requirements and company safety policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Work with ETS (Truss Plant) as necessary.
Occasionally deliver light loads with a pick-up truck.

No direct supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

At least six months of OTR experience preferred.
