Job Title: Companion
Job Summary:
An In-Home Companion provides non-medical support and social interaction to individuals—often seniors or people with disabilities—in their own homes. The role is focused on improving the client’s quality of life through companionship, light assistance, and emotional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide meaningful conversation and companionship
- Assist with light household tasks (e.g., tidying, laundry, light meal prep)
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or walks
- Monitor client safety and well-being, reporting concerns as needed
- Support hobbies and activities of interest to the client
- Provide reminders for medications or appointments (non-medical)
Qualifications:
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with elderly or disabled individuals is a plus
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and boundaries
- Basic first aid or CPR certification (preferred but not always required)
Work Environment:
- One-on-one setting in a private home
- Flexible hours (part-time or full-time options)
- May involve local travel (if errands or appointments are part of duties)
