Warehouse Worker/Delivery Driver at Nutrition Services

BASIC FUNCTIONS : Under the direction of the Warehouse / Print Shop Supervisor, assist in a District warehouse or stockroom filling orders for stocked items; receive and verify incoming shipments; drive a vehicle to pick up and deliver items. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS : KNOWLEDGE OF : Methods of receipts, storage and issuance of supplies and equipmentSafe driving practices and traffic lawsBasic principles and methods of servicing automotive equipmentProper methods of loading and unloadingProper methods of lifting heavy objectsBasic record-keeping techniques. ABILITY TO : Wrap and pack articles for shipping and storageLift and move heavy objectsPerform heavy physical laborMake arithmetic computations with speed and accuracyOperate a forkliftLearn record-keeping procedures associated with assigned dutiesDrive an assigned vehicle to pick up and deliver itemsRead road maps, labels and route schedulesUnderstand and follow oral and written instructionsWork cooperatively with others. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Any combination equivalent to : high school diploma or equivalent and experience in warehouse or delivery work.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS :

• High School Diploma OR equivalent
• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree or Higher Education Degree

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS / CERTIFICATES : Valid California Driver’s License; presentation and continuance of a satisfactory driving record to ensure maintenance of liability insurance coverage. Obtain and maintain forklift operator's certification as mandated by the District. Certification must be obtained within the first six months in the position. The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment physical examination. Cost of the exam will be borne by the District. A pre-employment drug screening will also be administered. If selected for the position, out-of-district applicants must be T.B. tested and fingerprinted. A practical skills test may be administered at the time of interview.

Salary : $22 - $26
