Controller
Logan Corporation is seeking a talented and highly motivated Controller. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will play a critical role in strategic decision making and operations as well as administering the company’s payroll and benefits programs.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on, participatory manager with a successful track record of setting priorities, as well as excellent analytic, organization and communication skills. Confidentiality and efficiency are of utmost importance in this position as is a deep knowledge of regulations and benefit options.
Job Responsibilities
Managing accounting functions on a day-to-day basis including invoicing, accounts receivable accounts payable, payroll and general ledger accounting.
Enhancing the accounting department’s use of software and integrating same into accounting, payroll and benefit processes and procedures.
Performing technical accounting issue research and resolution as necessary.
Assisting the CFO with preparation and completion of the fiscal year budgeting process, evaluating business unit performance against budget, and developing forecasts/reforecasts to provide an accurate projection of financial performance.
Assisting CFO with preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
Assisting CFO with preparation of monthly management financial reporting package, including variance analysis.
Reporting operational data to key members of leadership team, including key metrics on inventory.
Coordinating with and assisting CFO in creation of quarterly Board of Directors reporting packages.
Assisting CFO with management of annual financial audit process performed by Logan’s independent CPA firm.
Developing, maintaining and enhancing accounting and finance policies, processes and procedures to comply with US GAAP.
Seeking opportunities to revise or create new policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of Logan’s accounting operations.
Assisting CFO with local, state and federal tax compliance and reporting (including property and sales and use tax compliance and reporting).
Managing preparation of regulatory filings.
Establishing short and long-range accounting goals, objective, policies and procedures.
Managing projects and initiatives as assigned.
Designing benefit programs such as insurance and wellness.
Assuming responsibility of timely payment of monthly premiums.
Managing enrollments and determines employee eligibility.
Handling all benefit, compensation and reimbursement procedures.
Coordinating leave of absence and processing claims and requests such as medical operations, worker’s compensation, etc.
Maintaining current and complete employee records.
Informing employees of benefit options and monitoring use of same.
Collaborating with CFO as to employee deductions and payments.
Skills Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
Experience with high growth manufacturing company/inventory management.
Experience with general ledger and other accounting systems.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets experience.
Proficient in MS Office and/or HRMS system (e.g. Oracle).
Deep knowledge of a variety of benefit plans, including retirement, health and dental, etc.
Experience with ADP human resource management is a definite plus.
Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Pay Range
$50,000 to $70,00 a year, commensurate with education and experience
