Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on heavy equipment.
Perform routine maintenance and preventive maintenance, including oil changes, brake repairs, and fluid checks.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA and port regulations
Maintain accurate service, maintenance, and repair records
Operate diagnostic tools and repair equipment to troubleshoot issues efficiently
Collaborate with equipment operators and supervisors to identify and resolve mechanical issues promptly.
Respond to emergency breakdown repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work is 100% outdoors
Candidate will be exposed to weather conditions like heat, rain & cold on daily basis. And in some occasions will work in closed spaces (warehouse, vessel hatch, etc.)
Ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb ladders up to 100 feet, and respond quickly in dynamic environments
Comfortable working in a noisy, industrial setting
Flexibility to work extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends, as operations needs require
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, preferably in a port, construction, or industrial setting.
High school diploma or GED required, technical certification in diesel or heavy equipment mechanics preferred
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Background in preventive maintenance including oil/lube/brakes/hoses/hydraulics
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
Must have a valid driver's license
Ability to obtain a TWIC card (for more information visit the TSA website on TWIC requirements)

Scheduling:
Monday - Friday, day shift with nights and weekends as needed.
Compensation and Benefits:
$30-35/hr. Based on experience

As a port employer our team is subject to working in all weather conditions including extreme heat and harsh winters. We work in all weather conditions.
