The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll for all employees. This includes maintaining payroll records, resolving any payroll discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. Location: Philadelphia, PA (hybrid)
Salary: $70,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage regular payroll operations, including bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payrolls for employees across [number of locations or regions].
- Verify and input all payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, wage adjustments, benefits deductions, and more.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure proper recordkeeping in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Address employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and deductions in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with the HR and finance teams to manage and reconcile payroll-related accounts.
- Prepare payroll reports for management and assist in audits as needed.
- Calculate and process overtime, bonuses, commissions, and other payroll-related adjustments.
- Review and implement payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll-processing role.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paycom, or similar) and MS Office, particularly Excel and Workday preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data processing.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to handle employee payroll inquiries.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification or equivalent.
