Position Summary
The Desktop Support Specialist acts as the primary responder to incoming business needs related to technology. They use various tools to guard the safety of company data, as well as empowering employees to be as efficient and productive as possible.
Responsibilities
- Provides first-level response to all end-user technical support requests
- Performs end-user account and equipment setup, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
- Provides support for end-user workstations ensuring consistent access to business applications and network resources including file servers and printers
- Works with management and IT staff to define hardware and software requirements for end-users
- Works with management and IT staff to repair/replace defective equipment including coordination with manufacturer warranty representatives
- Documents procedures and problem resolutions
- Maintains hardware and software inventories to ensure accurate asset management and license compliance
- Works with management and IT staff to refine existing procedures and standards as necessary
- Works to acquire new skills and continue education to expand value to the company
- Other duties, as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years in a customer service role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting Windows 7 and Windows 10
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Thorough knowledge of PC hardware
- Thorough knowledge of Android and Apple mobile devices
- Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision
- Knowledge or exposure to networking protocols, Office 365, SCCM/Intune, MDT/WDS, and Forticlient VPN’s
