Insurance Authorization Specialist

New York Plastic Surgical Group is looking for an Insurance Authorization Specialist in our Garden City office

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES:

• Verifies insurance eligibility for office visits and surgical procedures.
• Obtains authorization for office visits and surgeries when needed.
• Provides leadership, guidance and organizational expertise to all staff members.
• Works closely with Physician secretaries to ensure that authorizations are obtained in a timely manner and any issues brought to the attention of the Physician.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge of CPT and ICD9/ICD10 coding.
• Understanding of insurance plans, i.e. HMO, POS, PPO

Compensation: $23.00-$26.00
