What are the responsibilities and job description for the K-5 Teacher position at Lonoke Public School District?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
- Teaches District approved curriculum
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students
- Assist in referring the learning disabilities of students
- Evaluates pupils’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate and current records and prepares progress reports
- Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes during the instructional day and planning period
- Provides challenging and relevant instruction on a daily basis to all students and is able to differentiate instruction to the students
- Follow expectations given from administration verbally and written
- Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner
- Participates in the approved evaluation process
- Obtains required professional development training
- Maintains current teaching credentials
- Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the work unit can be met
- Serves as a role model to students following ethical and legal behavior
- Display professionalism in appearance, attitude, and actions
- Follow code of ethics for educators
- Follow all HIPPA and FERPA laws and guidelines protecting student information
