We are seeking a commercial lawyer to provide general legal services at an exciting global company with U.S. offices located in New Jersey, Maryland, Texas, New Hampshire, Florida, and Oregon and manufacturing facilities in a number of other locations.
Job Overview :
Commercial lawyer with validated experience in contract drafting and commercial transactions to provide legal review, advice, and support on a broad range of legal matters including strategic transactions, commercial contracting, quality and operations, claims resolution and general corporate matters, with a particular focus on strategic sourcing and procurement matters as well as capital expenditure and construction projects. Experience in drafting contracts for indirect procurement matters, equipment purchases agreements, construction contracts, design and build contracts and EPCM contracts preferred.
Experience with real estate matters a plus. Strong drafting, communication and negotiating skills required.
Work closely with business functions and senior management. Actively assist company in achieving business objectives.
Demonstrate strategic value and competence in applying legal skills to daily corporate, business, compliance and matters.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for assuring the availability, continuity and quality of proficient, timely and cost-efficient legal services. This position has an important role in providing legal advice in areas of significant company-wide impact.
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel to support contractual and commercial projects for Lonza's business operations and initiatives.
- Work closely with all business functions and senior management. Actively assist company in achieving business objectives.
- Identify areas of company risk and make proposals for and lead implementation of mitigation strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education Level : J.D. degree required
Minimum Years Required Experience : 7-10 Years proven experience!
