SUMMARY:
The Resident Engagement Director collaborates with residents in designing a lifestyle to support the fulfillment of residents’ goals, goals that correlate to overall residentpurpose, wellbeing and community involvement. The position provides innovative leadership and strong collaboration with residents of Loomis Village based on a balanced approach to individual and community wellness with a focus on the wellness dimensions. The person supervisors the concierge, transportation and engagement team members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Skills/Competencies:
Governor Charles D. Baker announced that all long-term care facilities and all Assisted Living Residences must ensure that all personnel are vaccinated against COVID-19 and the influenza virus, unless such administration is medically detrimental to the individual’s health, or vaccination is against the individual’s religious beliefs. All employees of The Loomis Communities must either receive the COVID-19 and Flu Vaccines or provide a waiver of declination. These vaccinations can only be declined for either religious beliefs or a medical contradiction to receiving the vaccine.
Additionally, during the pandemic, we reserve the right to test our employees for COVID-19. Tests may be given as needed or as required by DPH, EOEA, our medical doctor or epidemiologist. Employees must be willing to submit to a COVID-19 test, in order to be scheduled to work.:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs job functions in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the Loomis Communities. Adheres to The Loomis Communities Compliance and Ethics Program.
- Demonstrates an awareness of, a respect for and attention to the diversity of the people with whom they interact (persons served, personnel, families/caregivers, and other stakeholders) that is reflected in attitudes, behavior and services.
- Collaboration with residents in the development of engaging programs and events based on the dimensions of wellness. Individual discussions with residents based on a consistent assessment approach that guides residents in the formulation of wellness goals. Identifies opportunities to support residents who may be at risk for social isolation and works in collaboration in the implementation of identified opportunities. Supports and facilitates opportunities for residents with similar interests to connect and foster relationships
- Connects with external community organizations and academic institutions to assist residents in pursuit of opportunities that offer purpose, mentoring, giving back, learning and mentoring.
- Evaluation of current programs, in collaboration with residents to determine how to successfully support residents’ lifestyle goals
- Event planning based on a highly organized and collaborative approach with team members and residents. Development of a robust calendar of events and programs on a monthly basis that fosters meaningful and fulfilling engagement. Participates in resident committees to gather feedback in the planning of external trips and opportunities to connect with the community at large. Adapts the technology to the changing needs and requests of residents and uses the communication system to ensure accurate and timely information
- Supervision of concierge, fitness, engagement and transportation departments and works with the Fitness Coordinator, in the oversight of the fitness center, equipment, and pool
- Collaborate with other leaders across the organization to promote a culture of collaboration when applicable and provides ease of access for all residents who wish to engage in dining and engagement opportunities across the three communities.
- Promote a culture of wellness, based on the identified dimensions, that promotes overall wellbeing.
- Contributes as member of the leadership team to strategic planning, budget development, monitoring of Key Performance Indicators and understanding of current and future trends that impact the organization.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor’s Degree in a field that lends itself to the support of active living in retirement community; wellness, creative arts, social work, recreation, marketing, geriatrics, psychology or related human services field

- Ability to work beyond normal hours when necessary.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

- Ability to relate well to all residents, including the emotionally upset.
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the public.
