The JVS Adult Career Center is seeking a skilled part-time as needed plumbing instructor to start up a plumbing program. Candidates must have a minimum of five years experience and the willingness to teach a plumbing class two-three evenings a week. There is a demand for trained individuals in the field of plumbing and we hope to help fill that need. This would be a new program, and the selected individual would be instrumental in developing the program from the beginning. No teaching degree required, just a passion to share your craft.

Essential Functions
- Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation
- Attend meetings and in-services as required
- Recommend long-term adjustments, changes, additions, and deletions in the career-technical education program
- Maintain working relationship with community and state agencies and area businesses, industries, and labor organizations in order to provide appropriate training
- Ensure safety of students
- Work to identify and define local job opportunities and the role of the schools in meeting these opportunities
- Coordinate all work components
- Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, parents, and community
- Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., cumulative folders and IEP's
- Make contacts with the public with tact and diplomacy
- Responsible for the collection, review, and submission of all forms and reports relative to career-technical education to appropriate state agencies
- Assist in disciplinary procedures and actions and record keeping
- Coordinate requests for repairs to lab equipment
- Oversee the distribution and inventory control of all supplies and equipment used by vocational students
- Maintain membership in and participate in the affairs of professional societies devoted to the advancement of vocational education
- Assist in the recruitment of students
- Establish an advisory committee
- Coordinate the gathering, selecting, and analysis of data with respect to jobs available
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
