The Role
This role will sit within the Performance team reporting into the Head of Performance & Product Data. The team consists of investment performance experts whose primary focus is to provide absolute, relative, and risk adjusted views into investment performance to portfolio management, executive leadership, and external stakeholders. The team’s objectives are to source input data, rigorously and proactively research data errors in order to ensure their timely resolution, enhance investment performance transparency, automate recurring reporting deliverables, and improve firm wide consumption of performance reports.
The Performance Analyst is an experienced financial professional with a background in investment performance and/or capital markets. We are seeking a highly motivated, self-sufficient individual who is passionate about providing high quality risk and performance analytics to end consumers. This person will proactively research data anomalies, identify systematic improvement opportunities, immediately resolve problems, provide thoughtful context and analysis when responding to performance inquiries, and develop plans to enhance performance reporting processes.
We’ll trust you to:
- Provide portfolio managers. existing clients, and perspective clients with a large volume of investment performance related reporting.
- Deliver product management and senior leadership with insights into product quality and investment performance
- Prepare and analyze comprehensive reporting including tracking market conditions and comparable asset performance, as well as ad hoc reporting requests.
- Assist with reviewing weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and follow up with any questions from clients regarding activity from prior periods.
- Perform research on portfolios and market data to assist in the development of marketing content
- Identify and structure methodologies to automate ongoing/recurring client deliverables
- Provide an ongoing evaluation of portfolio level reporting methodologies to ensure analytics are fairly and accurately represented
- Ensure monthly production quality assurance of client and marketing data sets

Hard Skills
- Domain expertise in common return calculations (time-weighted vs money-weighted returns) and ex-post risk statistics (tracking error, Sharpe ratio, batting average, etc.)
- Demonstrated knowledge of equity, credit, and market risk factors and impacts to performance
- Expertise with MS Excel as well as some programming experience is required; knowledge of SQL, SAS, and/or Python is a plus
- Experience with StatPro, eVestment, Morningstar, and Lipper is a plus
Experience
- A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience is required
- Knowledge of Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®) or Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM®) Program a plus
- Strong background in fixed income, investment management, and data analysis is required
- We are seeking candidates with performance management. trade operations, risk management, or middle office experience from a buy-side firm, sell-side firm, or an index provider
- Investment performance, risk reporting, or portfolio analytics experience is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience building/improving data management processes and analytical systems
Education
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Pursuit towards or completion of a financial industry designation (CFA, FRM, CIPM, CAIA, PRM) preferred

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $110,000 - $130,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
