Job Summary and Qualifications
The House Supervisor is a registered professional nurse who participates as an active administrative member of the Nursing Management Team. As the House Supervisor, you will assume responsibility for facilitating safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective care for patients throughout the hospital on an assigned shift. Your principle responsibilities will include facilitating staffing to meet the needs of patients for care, providing clinical support, promoting patient flow, communication with other agencies, and response to internal or external disasters. - You must assure the staff’s assessment of patient through direct observation and other methods of quality management.
- You will identify age-specific issues of the population served and assists the staff with the development of competencies appropriate to those age groups.
- You will frequently assess the progress of patients on the unit and assures that staff follows policies regarding the assessment of patients, and the timely notification of physicians regarding changes in condition.
- You will monitor the staff’s compliance with developing, implementing, and modifying the patient’s plan of care according to the patient’s progress.
- You must demonstrate knowledge of specific disease processes, treatments, interventions, and responses based on age specificity, patient’s needs, condition, impairment or disability.
- You must act as a resource when needed to help staff provide specific discharge instructions to patients in clear understandable terminology.
- You must demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills.
- You will manage emergencies on the unit quickly and effectively.
- You will act as a change agent to facilitate unit-specific or hospital-wide changes.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, Associate Degree or greater
- Current California Registered Nurse License
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider
- Current American Heart Association ACLS and BCLS
- Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Able to plan and prioritize work, while dealing professionally and effectively with frequent interruption.
This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
