Job Summary:
The Production Planner is responsible for by not limited to production planning and providing guidance to the production team to meet continuous improvement initiatives, the production schedule and customer order satisfaction. They are also involved in coordinating and managing inventory, procurement and logistics activities to meet production schedules and maintain optimal inventory levels.
Job Responsibilities:
· Plan and organize production workflow for one or multiple products.
· Review and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
· Estimate project needs of labor٫ equipment, and raw materials.
· Set goals٫ tasks, and priorities for workers and other staff.
· Set shifts according to production needs.
· Detect and resolve issues when they arise.
· Collect output information٫ including number of finished products٫ percentage of defectives.
· Create status and performance reports and present them to managers.
· Manage the project paperwork.
· Help with inventory control and audits.
· Work together with quality control٫ production, warehouse, and other staff
· Other duties or tasks as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
· Excellent communication, team orientation and presentation skills
· Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point (plus SAP and MES)
· Safety and Quality oriented with a solution-oriented mindset
· Ability to problem solve with planning skills.
· Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
· Excellent people skills with a positive attitude
· Logical and strong mathematical skills are must.
· Korean language skill is a plus.
Education and Experience:
· Minimum of three years of experience as a Production Scheduler, Production Planner or Raw Material Planner is required.
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Management, Logistics, Accounting, or related field with two years of experience
· Experience in Aluminum or automotive manufacturing is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will be required to: sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time and work on a computer; regularly walk, stand, sit, climbing stairs, and communicate.
