We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and adherence to infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical records, in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Monitor vital signs and assist in managing patient comfort throughout their visit.
- Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling appointments and managing patient information.
- Assist with general dentistry tasks, including prosthodontics and endodontics procedures.
- Maintain an organized inventory of dental supplies and equipment.
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR systems; experience with Eaglesoft or Dentrix is preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Competence in taking X-rays and understanding medical imaging protocols.
- Strong grasp of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices.
- Experience in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical coding, documentation, and records management is advantageous.
- Ability to operate a 3D scanner for advanced imaging techniques is beneficial.
