Position Overview
As a Registered Nurse in the CCU, you will play a vital role in caring for patients requiring intensive, critical care support. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and proficiency with Epic EMR systems. Patient ratios are typically 1:2, though they may occasionally flex to 1:3 based on unit needs. Responsibilities include essential procedures such as lab sticks, EKGs, and line starts, ensuring prompt and precise care delivery. This position requires adaptability, as nurses will float to all ICU areas, and occasionally to the Emergency Department (ED), PACU, Med/Surg, or PCU units to assist with ICU-level patient care.
Nurses will work with devices such as Alaris IV Pumps, Servo I Ventilators, Fresenius CRRT Dialysis Machines, Edwards Lifesciences Cardiac Monitors, Arctic Sun TMS, and more. Certifications and Requirements
To qualify, candidates must hold the following certifications:
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
NIH Stroke Certification
Additionally, candidates must hold a valid LA RN license at the time of submission. Nurses must also be prepared to care for COVID-19 patients, including knowing their N95 mask size. Compliance with both the COVID-19 and flu vaccine guidelines is mandatory, with exemptions allowed for medical or religious reasons for COVID-19 only.
Orientation will consist of 16 hours to help nurses acclimate to the unit's processes and equipment. Requested Time Off (RTO) is limited to a total of 5 days during the 13-week contract period.
