What are the responsibilities and job description for the Newborn Care Specialist position at Love 'N Care, LLC?
A Newborn Care Specialist is an individual trained and skilled in newborn care. Newborn Care Specialists know the ins and outs of newborn development and have specialized newborn training. They provide unique expertise in all aspects of newborn care, parental education and support. Their job is to help nurture and care for newborns while providing guidance, and education for the parents.
Duties include:
- Feeding the baby/babies
- Assist mother with facilitation of breastfeeding and accurately answers breastfeeding questions. (For those without experience we offer a breastfeeding class.)
- Sterilizing, cleaning and preparing bottles
- Sterilizing and cleaning pump parts
- Changing baby when needed
- Establishing healthy sleep habits
- Soothing baby back to sleep
- Soothes baby using skilled and proven techniques that help calm newborns
- Maintaining sleep & feeding schedules & Logs
- Keeping the nursery tidy
- Provide postpartum education and support for parents
- Awake Care for baby/babies with medical conditions

QUALIFICATIONS–REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have attended a Newborn Care/Postpartum Doula Specific Training or be an RN with newborn specific experience.
- Must live in the MD, DC Metro area. We serve Baltimore, Lutherville, Columbia, Annapolis, DC, down through Richmond and out to Ashburn.
- Previous overnight newborn care experience (day care, nanny, mother are all a great place to start).
- Infant/CPR Certification or willingness to renew/obtain
- Reliable Transportation
- Up-to-date immunizations: (Tdap, Flu, Hep)
- Willing to serve clients of all nationalities, races, religions and sexual orientations.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
