Summary/Objective:
This position assists in the completion of the day-to-day activities involving the maintenance of the building/facility, equipment and machinery, including HVAC, building lighting systems, production equipment, grounds keeping, security and overall facility appearance. This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. This position is also responsible for coordinating hazardous/non-hazardous waste drum disposal with Rineco.
Essential Functions
MAINTENANCE FUNCTIONS
-Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment
-Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
-Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
-Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
-Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
-Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
-Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
-Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
-Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
-Comply with all safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
-Makes minor carpentry and plumbing repairs.
-Replaces light bulbs and fixtures.
-Sets up and tears down chairs, tables, speaker system in meeting rooms.
-Participates in general cleaning.
-Be able to operate a forklift or scissor lift.
-Dismantles and installs furniture or cubicles.
-Ability to work effectively under pressure, and against strict time constraints.
-Assist the Facility and Maintenance Manager in all aspects of project implementation as needed.
-Represent the department in meetings to support and facilitate communication and action necessary for projects.
-Performs inspections of fire extinguisher, forklift, 180 day containment building, etc as needed.
FACILITIES FUNCTIONS
-Performs typical maintenance tasks to support the assembly floor and the entire facility.
-Clears snow and ice from entrances and walkways.
-Acts as a primary contact for all building issues, including climate control, odors, smoke, damage, etc.
-Coordinates and assists with departmental equipment moves.
Competencies
-The skills and knowledge required would generally be obtained with previous experience in building and maintenance work.
-Must have basic understanding of how things work.
-Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.
-Ability to relate to other employees in a courteous manner.
-Ability to acquire job skills through on-the-job training.
-Ability to work occasionally in poor weather condition, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
-Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee will also be exposed to heat or cold condition depending on working area.
Physical Demands

-Occasional reaching, crouching/squatting, crawling, balancing, stooping, kneeling, stairs, scaffolding, in/out of machinery, ladder, simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulation.
-Occasional lift/lowering, carrying, pushing/pulling up to 50-100 lbs of force.
-Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work.
This is a full time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours will be required to complete projects.
Travel
Local travel to various worksites is required. May be required to pick up parts in general vicinity.
Required Education and Experience
-Maintenance/production experience.
-The skills and knowledge in building maintenance work, including responsibility for mechanical equipment repair and maintenance.
-A working knowledge of building plans, including basic utilities information.
-Knowledge of building cleaning and maintenance work.
-Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Motor Vehicle operator’s license with good driving record.
