ANNOUNCEMENT NO. 15424
TITLE: Commercial Property Appraiser
DEPARTMENT: Tax Assessors, Lowndes County
LOCATION: 300 N. Patterson St.
SALARY RANGE: $48,939.83 annually
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for locating and appraising commercial and industrial property in order to assist with the development and documentation of the county tax digest. Analyzes field data to determine uniformity and represents the Lowndes County Board of Assessors during Board of Equalization, Hearing Officer, Arbitration and Superior Court hearings on appeals of subject properties. Assists with compiling and analyzing sale ratio studies; conducts market research to determine updates of CAMA system.
MINIMUM TRAINING: Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school diploma/ GED. Sufficient experience to thoroughly understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with three to five years experience or service. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Appraiser II designation from the Georgia Department of Revenue and ability to obtain an Appraiser III within one year of employment.
