Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure that all food is prepared and presented in an appealing manner while adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dining areas, and food storage spaces.
- Support the dietary team by performing various tasks such as washing dishes, cleaning equipment, and restocking supplies as needed.
- Communicate effectively with residents to understand their meal preferences and dietary restrictions, providing excellent customer service.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of food handling practices and dietary requirements specific to nursing home settings.
Skills
- Previous experience as a Dietary Aide or in the food industry is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, meal planning, and kitchen operations.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with residents, staff, and visitors.
