Duties and Responsibilities
Under general direction, supervises and coordinates activities of campus safety officers on an assigned shift.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
High school diploma or GED and 400 or more hours of certified police academy training from a recognized State of Illinois training facility. At least three years of experience as a Campus Safety Officer or member of a certificated police department.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage difficult or emotional situations; strong organizational skills; and absolute confidentiality in all matters.
- This position requires objectivity, the ability to follow detailed direction, and a willingness and ability to work independently.
- Must possess an understanding of the unique role they would play in maintaining the liaison, intelligence, and support functions of the Department, as well as ensuring that the training and personnel development goals of the Department are met.
- Involvement with any of the job duties in a prior capacity is preferred and will be given much consideration, as it would benefit the lieutenant in this position as well as the department.
Certificates/Credentials/Licenses
