This role involves managing design-build and design-bid-build projects from initial planning and design through construction, with a focus on vertical structures and healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will provide strategic leadership, ensure technical excellence, and drive project success across a diverse portfolio of federal engineering and architectural initiatives.Role on the TeamReporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for direct supervision of technical staff, ensuring compliance with quality standards, managing client relationships, overseeing project financials, and fostering collaboration across business lines and remote teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadershipLead and mentor in-house and subconsultant technical engineers, designers, and PMs.Foster collaboration, communication, and coordination across multiple business lines.Manage relationships with clients, remote team members, and subconsultants.Identify and address project challenges while implementing effective solutions.Maintain high team morale and support company-wide objectives.Monitor and optimize staff utilization.Budget & Schedule ManagementDevelop project budgets and schedules.Manage technical staff and subconsultants to meet budget and schedule goals.Project Management & ExecutionOversee project execution from planning to completionEnsure client satisfaction, quality, and financial success.Manage stakeholder relationships with clients, subconsultants, and end-users.Develop and negotiate subcontract scopes of work and terms.Ensure compliance with federal standards, regulations, and best practices.Perform quality assurance reviews.Reporting & Financial OversightReview and approve project status reports, financials, and documentation.Ensure accuracy in monthly financial closeout data, including revenue accruals, invoicing, and accounts payable.Business DevelopmentCollaborate with company executives to develop proposals and negotiate contracts.Participate in capture planning initiatives and contribute to marketing efforts.Represent the company at conferences and industry events.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelors degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field.10 years of general experience in engineering design, architectural design, construction management, or engineering project management.5 years of leadership experience on federal government A/E projects with agencies such as DHA, USACE, NAVFAC, GSA, VA, USDA, DHS, or DOI.3 years of experience with federal medical clients, such as DHA, USACE Huntsville MST, USACE Little Rock MST, USACE Mobile MST, VA, or others.Proven ability to manage up to four (4) multi-million-dollar projects simultaneously.Technical Expertise5 years leading technical teams on projects over $20M in construction value.Design experience using UFCs, WBDG, USACE Huntsville Design Guide, or others.Experience working under federal contracting regulations, including FAR, UFC, WBDG, and CQM.Expertise in design-build and alternative delivery methods.Proficiency in RFI responses, contract compliance, and construction oversight.Experience with industry-standard software (Revit, CAD, Bluebeam, ProjectTeam, ProCon, SharePoint, MS Project, Deltek, CostPoint, GovWin, Dropbox, etc.)CertificationsRequired:Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or AIA ArchitectPreferred (One or More):PMP Certification (or other nationally recognized project management certification)CxA (or other nationally recognized commissioning certification)LEED AP, WELL AP (or other green building certification)CCP, PSP (or other cost estimating or scheduling certifications)CCM, CPC (or other construction management certification)CEM, CEA, BPI (or other energy management/audit certification)CQM, NICET, NACE (or other nationally recognized inspection certifications)DoD Security Clearance (or equivalent from another federal agency)OSHA 30 (or other safety certifications)Travel & Work ArrangementEstimated travel: 15-20% (varies by project needs).Remote and hybrid work options available.Citizenship & ClearanceU.S. Citizenship required.Sponsorship not available for this position.
