What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Worker position at LSUHSC?
The South Central AIDS Education & Training Center (SCAETC) is one of eight regional centers developed by Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), U.S. Public Health Service, and the Department of Health and Human Services to provide customized, multi-disciplinary training programs for healthcare professionals addressing healthcare needs of persons living with or at-risk for HIV acquisition. The SCAETC Local Partner site at LSUHSC is seeking an individual that is a team player, and self-motivated to assist with training efforts to enhance decision-making, strategic planning, outcome assessments, and external reporting.
Job Tasks
- Extract, analyze, and develop, monthly or as requested, data reports reflective of training activities.
- Data entry of mandated Participant Information Form and/or Participant Evaluation Forms, within the SCAETC web-based database, from identified events.
- Review slide presentations to ensure they are within SCAETC protocol and submit for review on required web-based site.
- Order appropriate resources for dissemination by submitting requests to identified sites.
- Develop informational folders that provide an overview of the Program, upcoming training efforts, and other appropriate resources as available.
- Assist with training activities, as needed.
Full or Part-time college student in good academic standing. Proficiency with using Microsoft Office Software (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel,). Experience with data gathering, survey development, and relational databases. Strong attention to detail and time-management skills. Ability to work productively, problem solve, and work within a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Depending on budget, students may work twenty (20) hours per week during any week in which classes are in session or exams are scheduled at any time within the week. When classes or exams are not scheduled for a full week, students may work up to forty (40) hours within that week if written supervisor permission is submitted to the timekeeper in advance of the work. Work hours are between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
