Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Summer Program Camp Counselors to join our team and help create a fun, safe, and engaging environment for children participating in our summer camp activities for 9 full weeks. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about working with children and fostering their growth through educational and recreational programs. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in childcare, teaching, behavior management, and youth engagement while making a positive impact on young lives.
Duties
- Supervise and engage children in a variety of camp activities, including arts and crafts, sports, theater, and educational games
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by adhering to safety protocols and maintaining constant supervision
- Manage group dynamics through effective classroom management and behavior management techniques
- Assist with planning and implementing daily schedules that promote childhood development and early childhood education principles
- Provide first aid when necessary, following proper procedures to address minor injuries or health concerns
- Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance, utilizing experience with special education or childcare as needed
- Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, respect, and Christian values (if applicable)
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress or concerns
- Lead by example in demonstrating good conduct, sportsmanship, and leadership skills
Skills
- Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, babysitting, tutoring, or camp environments
- Strong classroom management and behavior management skills to handle diverse group dynamics effectively
- Knowledge of childhood development stages and early childhood education best practices
- Ability to provide first aid and respond calmly to emergencies or health issues
- Experience with special education or working with children with special needs is a plus
- Skills in teaching, sports coaching, theater arts, or Christian counseling are beneficial for enriching camp activities
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members, children, and parents

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
