Surgery Scheduler

As Surgery Scheduler, you will be responsible for:

• Meeting with patients to discuss surgery options, fees & dates for procedures.
• Processing all paperwork related to clearing a patient for surgery.
• Conducting diagnostic testing and taking measurements on patient’s eyes.
• Working directly with surgeons to determine patient’s treatment plan.
• Handling phone inquiries on services and patient care concerns.
• Managing critical patient data and preparing patients for surgery.
• Educating patients on risks and benefits of surgery.
• Managing email and web-based correspondence.

A College degree or equivalent in work experience is required. A keen attention to detail, a dedication to accuracy, and strong verbal communication skills sufficient to discuss sensitive medical issues and costly surgical fees are essential. Candidates must present a professional image. Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality are imperative.

This position is ideal for someone who wants to establish a career with Lusk Eye Specialists with room to grow professionally with our dynamic, growing practice. Or it could also offer an entry point for a person who wants to gain some experience and give their resume an edge before further pursuing education/training such as medical school, Physician’s Assistant school, or other career endeavors which require leadership and project management experience. We request a minimum of 1 year contract commitment due to the investment of training for this position.

This is a Full-Time position, Monday – Friday. Hours will range from (7:45am – 6:00pm), ending up with about 40 hours per week.
