What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach/Assistant Equipment Room Manager position at LUTHER COLLEGE?
Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach
- Serve as lead assistant women’s soccer coach with specific coaching responsibilities assigned by the head coach
- Attend practices, competitions, meetings, planning sessions, and other essential soccer-related activities
- Assist the head coach in the administration and management of the soccer program as assigned
- Actively participate in the recruitment of student-athletes
- Demonstrate professionalism and engagement in professional development activities, including but not limited to:
- knowledge acquisition
- staying current with teaching techniques, strategies, and trends
- attending professional meetings
- serving in leadership positions in professional organizations
- Adhere to the rules, policies, and regulations established by Luther College, the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C), and the NCAA;
- Demonstrate a willingness to support the mission, philosophy, and goals of Luther College, NCAA III, and A-R-C;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the head coach.
Assistant Athletic Equipment Manager:
- Effectively develop, organize, interpret, and store institutional equipment and uniforms
- Proactively troubleshoot and respond to system inefficiencies
- Assist administrative team in venue pre-competition preparation
- Assist manager in hiring, training, and supervising of student-work team
- Assist manager in inventory, ordering, and storing of concessions stand product
- Coordinate athletics department laundry alongside team of employees
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master's degree preferred
- 1-3 years of successful high school or college soccer coaching experience preferred
- Experience working with CRMs and institutional recruitment programs preferred
- Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and friends of the college
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- May require exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as noise and distractions.
- Substantial interaction with people is required and consistently demonstrating a positive and cooperative attitude is important.
- May require occasional lifting of equipment or supplies and/or the ability to lift, carry, push or pull or otherwise move objects.
- The job responsibilities require travel and working evenings and weekends.
