Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Translator/Interpreter to join our team. As a Translator/Interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating effective communication between individuals who speak different languages. Your expertise in translating and interpreting will play a crucial role in bridging language barriers and ensuring clear understanding.
Responsibilities:
- Translate written documents, such as emails, reports, and legal documents, from one language to another
- Interpret spoken conversations, meetings, and conferences in real-time
- Provide accurate and culturally sensitive translations and interpretations
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all translation and interpretation assignments
- Research industry-specific terminology to ensure accurate translations
- Collaborate with clients to understand their specific translation needs
- Assist with language-related tasks, such as proofreading and editing translated materials
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Translator/Interpreter or similar role
- Proficient in at least two languages, including English
- Strong linguistic skills with a deep understanding of grammar, vocabulary, and cultural nuances
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with translation software and tools is a plus
- Knowledge of specialized fields (e.g., legal, medical, technical) is advantageous
Skills:
- Ability to translate written documents accurately and efficiently
- Bilingual proficiency in English and at least one other language
- Strong interpretive skills to facilitate real-time conversations between individuals speaking different languages
- Knowledge of linguistics principles to ensure accurate translations
- Multilingual capabilities to work with diverse populations
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey messages across languages
- Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus

Expected hours: 1 – 40 per week
