What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tactical Buyer position at Lutron Electronics Co., Inc?
As a Tactical Buyer, you will be accountable for the following:
Managing purchase orders (POs) and maintaining accurate records, including exception message execution, red report execution, hot list review, and supplier on-time delivery (OTD) communication.
Proactively managing inventory levels, monitoring safety stock, and addressing material shortages and procurement delays.
Analyzing and tracking key performance metrics such as MRP execution, supplier OTD, material shortages, and past-due invoices.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate material planning and timely order fulfillment.
Coordinating with suppliers to resolve issues, expedite deliveries, and maintain strong working relationships.
Reviewing and updating reports and trackers, including customs POs, defers, and cancellations.
Continuously improving processes to optimize the supply chain and minimize downtime.

- Bachelors degree in Business, Operations, or equivalent required
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Minimum 3-5 years previous experience in purchasing/supply chain role/s
- APICS CPIM (desirable)
- Experience/Knowledge required (Materials / purchasing areas, bill of materials, MRP)
- Communication skills, customer focus, problem solving, attention to details, sense of urgency
