We are looking for a self-motivated legal assistant to join our very busy litigation defense practice. Must be a team player who is hard working and eager to learn and offer assistance with enthusiasm and pride in work. Competitive salary and benefits to start commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to lawyers;
- Handle communication with clients, witnesses, etc.
- Maintain attorney calendar by planning and scheduling court appearances, depositions, teleconferences and travel;
- Type and file legal documents and correspondence;
- Monitor deadlines and follow up with records requests;
- E-Filing
Skills:
- Knowledge or ability to learn Insurance Defense Litigation;
- Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols and court system
- Computer literacy;
- Excellent secretarial and organizational skills;
- Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure;
- Proficiency in English;
- Ability to work as a team and get along with co-workers
- Ability to pay attention to detail and take direction.
