Summary of Position:
This is a Restaurant Manager position. The Pit Master is responsible for food production and assisting with overseeing the entire execution of the back-of-house operations. The Pit Master is primarily responsible for all kitchen operations including scheduling, maintaining staffing levels, safety and sanitation, food production related activities, expo line execution, and financial goals. The Pit Master will provide professional leadership and direction to kitchen team members as well as support the Restaurant Director, Chef, and management team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Have significant BBQ pit experience.
- Direct the food prep process.
- Hire, train, coach, develop and lead team members.
- Responsible for food quality and safety standards.
- Meet standards through daily line checks and food reviews, response to guest feedback/scores, ongoing maintenance/housekeeping, and staff training/supervision in order to achieve results aligned to the company’s objectives and goals.
- Achieve company objectives in sales, service, and quality, appearance of facility.
- Responsible for compliance with all federal, state, county and municipal laws and regulations.
- Complete additional tasks assigned by the Restaurant Director

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Be 21 years of age.
- Have reliable transportation.
- Manager’s Food Service Certification and Alcohol Server Certification.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Have knowledge of both service and food and beverages operations in a BBQ or full service restaurant.
- Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system.
- Basic Computer Skills, Word, Outlook
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must have the stamina to work an average of 55 hours per week depending on business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to speak Spanish a plus.
- Previous Culinary Management experience in a BBQ restaurant.
- College or Culinary Management degree preferred but not required.
