Contract Systems Engineer

M&S is working with a Florida based company seeking a contract position for 4-6 months with possible extension. This work is remote with some possible onsite requests.

Job Summary:The Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining IT infrastructure, focusing on HPE GreenLake, VLM, and Veeam solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of hybrid cloud platforms, automated storage systems, and data protection technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Implementation:
• Design, deploy, and manage HPE GreenLake hybrid cloud solutions to optimize IT infrastructure
• Integrate and maintain Vertical Lift Modules (VLM) for automated storage and retrieval systems
• Implement Veeam backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data protection and business continuity
• System Management:
• Monitor and manage all installed systems and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and configuration changes to maintain security and efficiency
• Develop and maintain custom scripts to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency
• Collaboration and Support:
• Work closely with IT, operations, and other departments to understand and address their system needs
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for system-related issues, ensuring timely resolution
• Liaise with vendors and service providers to resolve technical problems and optimize system performance
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures
• Generate regular reports on system performance, availability, and security status
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience in systems engineering, with a focus on hybrid cloud platforms, automated storage systems, and data protection technologies
• Strong knowledge of HPE GreenLake, VLM, and Veeam solutions
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
• Familiarity with network infrastructure and cybersecurity best practices
