Masonry Estimator

Job Overview:

M3, Inc. seeks an experienced Masonry Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and estimating, with proficiency in brick, block, and stone. This is a full-time position based in Charlottesville, Virginia offering a competitive salary and full benefits. Recent College Graduates with degrees in Construction, Architecture, or Engineering will also be considered.

Responsibilities:
• Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, architects, and clients to gather necessary information for bids
• Evaluate labor, materials, and time requirements for each project
• Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and building techniques to assess project needs
• Provide detailed proposals outlining project scope, costs, and timelines
• Review and compare subcontractor bids for accuracy and competitiveness
• Monitor project progress to ensure budget adherence, quality, and safety
• Maintain regular communication with project managers, architects, and clients
• Prepare progress reports, daily logs, and other documentation related to project activities
• Communicate changes, delays, or other issues and propose solutions

Requirements:
• Prior experience as a Masonry Estimator
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Comprehensive understanding of commercial and residential building processes
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and math skills to produce accurate estimates
• Proven experience with building codes, regulations, and OSHA guidelines
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to handle the stress of deadlines and able to multi-task
• Knowledge of equipment, material, and tools used in masonry construction projects
• Concise and effective written and verbal communication skills
