Job Overview: We are urgently hiring a Full-Time Building Maintenance Technician with strong troubleshooting and communication skills, who enjoy fixing and improving things, as well as assisting in the facility’s overall maintenance and repairs. The perfect candidate will have electrical and electronic trouble shooting abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- As a Building Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for ensuring the building and facilities are running efficiently and effectively by providing routine building maintenance and repair work in areas such as light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC. As a Building Maintenance Technician with us, you will need the following skills and experience in.
- Basic Electrical: Change out Ballasts, bulbs, parking lot lights, outlet installation, dedicated circuits, and sign repair and maintenance.
- Basic Plumbing: General plumbing including repairing leaking faucets, replacing washers,’ faucets and seals on malfunctioning plumbing fixtures; cleaning clogged drains, hot water heater repair/replacement, basin cleaning in garages, pit/drain cleaning and snaking in garages.
- Basic Carpentry: Rough & Finish carpentry, hang drywall, replace doors & hinges, building furniture and fixtures repairs & replacements, flooring & ceiling replacement, lock replacement; deadbolts, levers & combination locks, alarm updates.
- Light Preventative HVAC Maintenance: Thermostat replacements, change out filters, small HVAC system repair & replacement, general working knowledge of HVAC systems and ability to troubleshoot problems to determine appropriate departmental response.
Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor or manager.
DAY-TO-DAY DUTIES INCLUDE
Identify and troubleshoot all initial building and maintenance issues, and then effectively communicate your findings to the Operations team to generate estimates/proposals for the client’s approval before any work is completed.
Conducting thorough inspections and diagnostics to identify issues and determine the best course of action.
Documenting work activities, including service reports, maintenance logs, and inventory records.
Timely completion of work orders generated through our proprietary work order management system as well as from property owners, tenants, or other staff members on site.
Scheduling, monitoring, and performing general and preventative maintenance of all building facilities.
Approach each request & inquiry with a customer service mindset.
Inventory & Supply management by ensuring all facilities supplies are ordered, stocked, and accounted for.
Working outside in all types of weather and temperatures and inside in a typical office environment.
Qualifications:
Basic Electrical: Ability to Change out Ballasts, bulbs, outlets, electrical door, sign repair and maintenance. Focus on a basic understanding of how appliances, equipment and building electrical systems operate and the ability to trouble shoot.
Basic Plumbing: General plumbing includes repairing commercial faucets, toilets and urinals – seals/gaskets on malfunctioning plumbing fixtures; cleaning clogged drains, hot water heater repair/replacement. Basic rodding and minor replacement of pipes.
Basic Carpentry: Rough & Finish carpentry, drywall, replace doors & hinges, building furniture and fixtures repairs & replacements, flooring & ceiling replacement, lock replacement; deadbolts, levers & combination locks, alarm updates.
Light Preventative HVAC Maintenance: Thermostat replacements, change out filters, small HVAC system repair & replacement, general working knowledge of HVAC systems and ability to troubleshoot problems to determine appropriate departmental response.
Must have valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.
Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
