E-Commerce Product Specialist

Qualified candidates have great computer skills, a positive attitude, and have weekend and evening availability. Duties include intaking donated items into our hub software, getting them ready to be sold online, taking professional images of products, writing descriptions, quality checking, and storing inventory. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail-oriented and committed to daily operations while keeping a positive and supportive mindset.

This job is great for entry level, high school students, retired individuals, college students, masters of their craft, or masters of none!

Essential Functions

Functions include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for following established workflow processes and procedures for processing and fulfillment of online orders

• Determining the sales price of items and prioritizing further processing
• Display items and capture quality photos
• Upload and edit photos in database
• Using templates, write accurate and in-depth descriptions of products including dimensions, weight, and product details
• Follow safety guidelines
• Work as part of a team
• Follow written and verbal instructions, attend meetings, and perform other tasks as directed by supervisors
• Keep work area safe, clean, and organized at all times
• Assure proper maintenance of machines and equipment in area of responsibility and report any malfunctions immediately
• Assist in other areas when needed

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time as well as be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods

Required Qualifications

• Reliable and consistent with an excellent work ethic and attendance record

• Ability to work at least 20 hours a week on a consistent schedule
• Ability to learn quickly, including production processes and Swedemom proprietary software
• Great computer, typing, and camera skills
• Ability to measure products accurately using a tape measure

• Willing to work weekends and evenings

• Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• Good time management, multitasking, and organizational skills are necessary
• Must be team-oriented, cooperative, and able to work with all levels of company staff
• Comfortable receiving frequent direct feedback

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in production or warehousing a plus

• Knowledge of Google Suite and email is helpful
• Experience of online sales a plus (ie: eBay, Etsy, Poshmark)
• Photography skills

• College degree
• Volunteer experience

Typical Physical Activity

• Physical Demands/Requirements consist of standing, sitting, walking, stooping, grasping, pushing, pulling, moving loaded carts weighing up to 150 pounds, reading, speaking, hearing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Typical Environmental Conditions

• Production areas are typical of an office/warehouse facility which includes variations in temperature, sound, odors, humidity, lint and dust.

Company Overview

MacHub is a division of Swedemom Center of Giving, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. MacHub is responsible for receiving and picking up donations of pre-owned and usable household goods from the local community. We create sustainability by either passing those items on to other nonprofits or selling them online to cover employee and operational expenses. Our goal is to generate financial stability for all nonprofit organizations to ensure the success of their programs. At MacHub we believe in community, sustainability, and working together towards a common goal.
