Principal Product Engineer
Job Description:
As a Product Engineer at MACOM Technology Solutions, you will be a key team member of the Product Engineering team responsible for the release of a diverse portfolio of microwave semiconductor products targeting high speed optical applications (100Gbs and beyond) into mass production. The Product Engineer’s role includes the development of production tests plans to verify product performance, the design and debug of RF test boards for automated test equipment and the statistical analysis of data using sound statistical methodology in order to set test limits and datasheet specifications. To accomplish these tasks, the Product Engineer will interact closely with Design Engineering, Test Engineering, Applications, Marketing, and Reliability Engineering to analyze and resolve issues, as they relate to sample, pre-production and full production release of a product. You will work with internal and offshore test facilities to release products to production. A strong semiconductor product characterization and test background and the ability to collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines at different geographical location worldwide are essential to the success of this position.
Responsibilities include:
Leads others to solve complex problems; using sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.
Ensure the new product introduction is successful and on schedule.
Ensure all aspects of product manufacturing, including hardware, documentation, BOMs and costing are in place for the production release of a product.
Generate Acceptance Test Plans to verify product performance.
Design/analyze test boards and/or burn-in for automated test equipment.
Perform yield analysis and hold meetings of the project team to review the findings.
Qualifications:
BSc in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent – MSc is a plus.
In-depth knowledge of high reliability screen methods and standards is a must, such as MIL-STD-883,MIL-PRF-38534/38535, EEE-INST-002, etc..
More than 7 years of experience as a High Reliability Product Engineer in the semiconductor field.
Knowledge of a wide range of RF semiconductor products including amplifiers, switches, attenuators, phase shifters, converters, and limiters.
Exceptional team and communication skills to interface with internal cross-functional teams and subcontractors.
Ability to analyze data using sound statistical methodology and effectively present technical information.
Strong test measurement skills.
