What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Technician position at Madera Community Hospital?
The Clinical Laboratory provides inpatient and outpatient services twenty-four hours a day at the request of the ordering physician including diagnostic testing of patient blood, body fluids, and other specimen types. The patients served are neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups. Under supervision of licensed laboratory personnel, to perform clinical laboratory work with automated instruments for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients to do related work. The incumbents in this classification may be assigned to perform duties in various areas such as Microbiology, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Special Chemistry, Immunology, or Transfusion Services. Prefer an associate degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university, with at least 30 semester hours in science courses which are divided between biological and physical science and three (3) months training in Clinical Laboratory or six (6) months training experience in a clinical laboratory or at a school recognized by a national accredited agency in clinical laboratory technician instruction or equivalent work experience.
