Coating Operator

JOB SUMMARY:

Madico is a leader in the Window Film Manufacturing Industry. Our new World Headquarters, located in Pinellas Park is a 250k sq ft., fully air-conditioned manufacturing facility. Madico is in need of safety-focused Operators who are responsible for the operation of coating and laminating machinery for the production of window film products. Operators inspect the film as it runs, keeping a keen eye out for defects and quality issues. Familiarity with working around chemicals and solvents is a plus.

Shifts: 24/7 Operation/12 hour shifts 7a-7p or 7p-7a on an abcd schedule. Additional opportunity for overtime.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform work in a safe fashion and adhere to safety policies & practices.
• Basic trouble shooting of the process in order to eliminate defects.
• Basic understanding of laminating process and curl control of the film.
• Execution of Shop Orders provided through the production Schedule.
• Properly loading the correct material in the required fashion onto the Coating and Laminating machinery.
• Set up of the Coater-Laminator per the specifications for each product.
• Inspection of raw and WIP materials prior to loading of rolls on machine.
• Mounting and removal of master rolls from un-winders and winders.
• Set up and operation of the pumping and filtering system..
• Inspection and testing of materials for conformance to requirements & specifications.
• Performing and Recording the results of all required quality and product testing.
• Documenting of machine conditions, product roll quality & productivity.
• Defect identification, flagging, and recording.
• Perform start of shift product checklist, start of shift safety & environmental checklist.
• Working knowledge of HAZCOM and Hazardous Waste operations.
• Basic understanding of coating process and weight control and uniformity.
• Clean up of work area and machinery using 5s principles and working knowledge of ISO procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years machine operation experience
• Basic computer operations
• Must be fit-tested to wear a full or partial respirator.
• Team player with a positive, Can-Do attitude is a must.
• 1-2 years Quality experience, specifically identifying product defects.

• Basic computer operation skills

• Able to be comfortable working with different types of machines

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles.The noise level in the plant is moderate.
