Title: Senior Fund Accountant
Office Status: 1x a week in office
Salary: $125,000-$140,000 20% bonus
A $10b alternative investment firm that specializes in raising capital and lending credit for VC backed tech companies is looking for a Senior Fund Accountant. Some of their well-known investment partnerships include companies such as Facebook, Blue Bottle Coffee, Rent the Runway, YouTube and Square.
The firm launched in 15 years ago and has seen consistent growth from an AUM perspective over the past several years. They have two HQs, one of them being in NYC and the other in San Francisco. I’m working directly with the CFO to help build out his finance team by hiring a new Senior Associate.
The CFO set up this team in a unique way, so every member can wear many hats and get involved in the front to back processes of financial reporting, corporate finance / fp&a, investor reporting and fund operations. The team heavily interacts with all departments internally including investor relations, front office, treasury, legal and operations. This is a not a typical “back office” accounting job.
Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Independently owning the day-to-day accounting operations of the Company
- Track cash, fundings and investments
- Preparation and review of account reconciliations
- Review customer billings and cash collections
- Review vendor payments and follow-up on accruals
- Prepare and track the accounting yield calculations for all debt investments
- Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting
- Portfolio company monitoring and preparing valuation support, as needed
- Prepare cash flow and quarterly financial forecasts
- Provide additional support and analytics to senior management as needed
- Provide external auditors with schedules and other assistance during annual audit
Requirements
- 3 years’ work experience, coming from a national CPA firm (with financial services clients) fund or fund administrator experience
- Experience with preparation of GAAP financial statements a plus
- CPA licensed a plus
