POSITION SUMMARY
Provides quality support for manufacturing operations; conducts various inspections and audits to provide feedback as a base for measuring quality performance and identifying areas for improvement. Coordinates, maintains, and compiles quality information to generate quality reports, as required.
Provide complete precision inspection of parts, fixtures, gauges, and tools to determine exacting compliance to customer specifications and requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform a variety of quality control tests/inspections on products, materials, components, and parts at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance
- Meeting quality, reliability, and regulatory standards
- Record and evaluate test data and follow quality procedures
- This position will be required to operate various quality equipment including x-ray and spectrometer in the quality lab
- Perform chemical property tests on routine samples on each shift requiring technician to calculate test results, visually observe and alight test set-up, weigh out samples, use chemicals in testing, pour chemicals into sample solutions for testing, and record results
- Visually observe any defect from samples brought into the lab
- Maintain daily logs for defects, test results, non-routine testing done, and defect notifications
- Issue defect notifications on out of specification results. Communicate with other departments to eliminate causes of defects
- Assist on reviewing and grading data per the quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
People in this job will be working throughout Madison-Kipp Corporation facilities including the shop floor and will be operating various types of equipment. Under special circumstance, there may also be the possibility of working at other Madison-Kipp Corporation locations and/or sorting/rework at a customer facility.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to work for long periods of time while sitting.
- Standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of quality related experience, such as use of basic metrology equipment and recording of quality data, or in a manufacturing environment with product inspection responsibilities.
- Basic math skills as well as competence in reading and writing of the English language required.
- Ability to use a computer, execute Microsoft based programs and the aptitude to learn to use Excel at an average level.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills (person must be able to communicate with all levels in the company).
