What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Evening English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor position at Madison-Oneida BOCES?
Duties: Work with adult non-English speakers. Responsibilities include hands-on direct instruction, student intake, testing, and assessment; maintain accurate attendance and records using a computer-based database and accountability for student achievement and retention. We are seeking a candidate experienced in and able to work with a diverse adult population of non-English speakers. Candidates must be self-disciplined and able to work independently. Must commit to attending 14 hours of paid Professional Development through the Regional Adult Education Network (RAEN) per year.
Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Education (or related field). NYS Teacher Certification or eligibility for Adult Ed Certification required.
Location of Position: Utica ACCESS Site, 508 2nd Street, Utica, NY
Term of Employment: 12-month position, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 4:30-7:30pm- hours negotiable
Salary: Range $24-$29 per hour depending on experience and certification
Starting Date: Position available immediately
