The corporate finance, M&A, and due diligence entity of our firm is currently seeking a financial analyst to add to our team. We are seeking an analyst to participate and support the teams in preparing due diligence and valuation packages for small to middle market sized companies in various industries.
The position is fast-paced, thus requiring an organized, bright, and motivated individual to join our dynamic team and to quickly take on required responsibilities. The position entails daily and direct contact with CEO’s and CFO’s of Corporations. Excellent communication skills are a must. The position is for a self-starter who is ready to be immersed into the process immediately.
Only those able to interact comfortably with CEO’s, CFO's, and Controllers will be selected as this position has routine client interaction. Our analysts are responsible for interacting with our client's senior management, analyzing financial statements and tax returns, working with complex financial models and preparing detailed written reports on company findings. This is a project oriented, financial modeling, research and writing position that requires the ability to multi-task.
Responsibilities:
- Direct and substantial interaction with clients, buyers, lenders, investors, private equity, and venture capital firms;
- Potential to have significant participation during deal structuring and negotiation;
- Be a significant part of high deal volume activity;
- Develop executive documentation and management presentations;
- Gather client industry information from research sources including firm provided databases, the Internet, trade publications, and periodicals;
- Use research and financial analysis to conduct due diligence, financial modeling, writing offering memorandums and two page teasers, building potential buyer lists, and work on other assigned special projects;
- Traveling occasionally to client locations, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Excellent financial modeling skills, specifically Excel;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Minimum 4-year college degree with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, MBA preferred;
- Minimum 1 year experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate M&A;
- Demonstrates an understanding of financial statement analysis, the merger & acquisition process, and company valuation techniques (discounted cash flow analysis, public company multiples, transaction multiples);
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage rapidly changing assignments;
- Genuine passion and dedication to grow with the firm and take ownership over projects and responsibilities.
Compensation is determined based on experience and is inclusive of a performance based component.
